Throughout America, the Spanish Community has a special devotion
to Our Lady of Guadalupe who appeared to Juan Diego in 1531,
about ten years after the Spanish Conquest of Mexico in 1519-21.
Our Lady's apparition is responsible for the conversion of
many people to the Catholic faith.
In learning more about Our Lady's story, we learn about ourselves
and about the compassion and love she has for the little ones of the world.
It is hoped that the
following links will be helpful to you in your own faith development.
And in the words of Pope John Paul II
upon initiating the
official website for
Our Lady; " Let us ask Our Lady
that this new form of communication make more fully visible
her consoling protection, especially for the poor and forgotten;
that the diffusion of the mestiza image of Our Lady of Guadalupe
may foster brotherhood among races, increase the dialogue
between cultures and promote peace".

Please note that the following two sites are excellent, however, they will not open within
the Spanish Community site, nor will they allow you to use your
"Back" button to return to this site. You will have to return to the Sacred Heart/Spanish Community Site
by typing in the address or by using your "favorites" or "history" buttons, if you have saved us on either of those sites.
